hey loves, I am back with a new topic which importance I realized the last days. I am talking about working on yourself, developing yourself, being a life-long learner. Every person is developing themselves and learning new stuff while they are going to school and college, but what happens once they finished this educational path? Well, most people only learn very rarely and some people not at all. They just stay where they were after college, developing no new skills and knowledge.
So let me explain to you how I realized this and why this is so important to me – and hopefully to you, after reading this. While I went to school (until last spring) I only learned the stuff my teachers told me to, and to be really honest I didn’t even learn this. Then, after school, I just laid around in my bed, watched TV shows did nothing (!) that would bring me anywhere in life.
Looking back at this time I feel really sad about not using all the time I had and spending it on Self-Development instead of Tv Shows and other senseless stuff. The thing is that your life will always stay the same, or even get worse, if you don’t start developing yourself – if you don’t start creating the best version of yourself. Well, you might think your life is okey the way it is and you rather want to lay around all day instead of working your ass off just to change it a bit. But are you really fulfilled with your life right now? Are you the creator of your life? Are you in charge of how you feel, how life, what you think? Are you happy? Do you feel as if you are contributing something important to your life and this world?
Because those questions are the ones that should keep you going – or start going. As long as you are just laying around all day the answers will be no, if you are really honest with yourself. And the thing is: you can change this right now if you just start working on yourself and your life.
The last weeks I have been always surrounded by other people, being on holiday and all this stuff. And I am so grateful for this time I was allowed to spend with my loved ones, it made me so happy to experience all those days and for nothing in the world I would have wanted to miss this. But when I came back I just realized that I needed to get back into self development as soon as possible, I felt empty and not in charge of my mood.
This showed me how important it is to work on myself, to keep going and to start again after some time off. Working on yourself will give your life sense, self development will be your reason to get out of bed every morning. If you are not doing something every day that will contribute in a positive and meaningful way to your growth – where is even the point in waking up every morning? If you don’t know your purpose and what impact you want to have to your environment and the world as a whole – what is your point in living this life?
You may think you are just a lazy person or maybe you are just settling for the person you are now and the life you got right now – because it is comfortable to do this. It is easy, it is the path of least resistance. But trust me, once you start you will ask yourself how you could ever imagine a life without this. How you could every think you are happy as you are, as your life is.
There are so many ways to get started with self development.. reading books, watching youtube videos, listening to podcasts – just to name some easy and obvious ones. Find out who want to be, find out what you want your life to be like & start being the creator of this, start developing this without making any lazy excuses.
I hope I could inspire you with this post – there is going to come a lot more about this topic as I am learning more and more about it.
Sending Love & Happiness your way, Sarah.
