“The secret of your future is hidden in your daily routine.”
For a long time I had no routines and no habits. I didn’t even have a plan. I just woke up every day without knowing what I should and could do, just waiting there for something to happen. No goals, no vision. Staying in bed all day being lazy wasn’t a big problem because there was nothing I lost by this. Seemingly.
But I was unhappy, had no energy. Something was missing in my life, obviously. I started making plans, creating lists, setting goals. I developed healthy habits and routines to go through every day. Combined with my goals my life became a sense of purpose and I became energy, a lot of it.
The Benefits of Routines and Habits which I experienced:
- feeling a lot more emotionally stable
- sense of purpose
- more energy
- decreased overthinking, anxiety and depression
- getting to know myself better, how my mind works, what is good/bad for me, etc.
- more in tune with myself, goes hand in hand with the previous point
- able to accomplish more things that are actually meaningful to me
- setting goals and really committing to them
- increased efficiency and effectiveness
- less stress
- more quality time to spend with my loved ones or to relax and unwind
- helps me to not get off track in though times, works like an anchor

How to develop Habits and Routines:
The first thing I would advise you is to create a healthy morning and night routine, this will make a huge difference. Morning Routines get you ready for your day and help you to gain the energy you need to conquer everything! I created some facts about Morning Routines on the Blog, just click here. If you need some ideas about what you could implement in your morning routine.. click here. When it comes to your night routine.. I created a complete guide on how to create one, click here!
Obviously those Routines are meant to become habits as well, as time goes by. Forming new habits takes time and consistency.. which is sometimes easy and sometimes hard. But every day it will become more normal to do those things and one day you wouldn’t want to miss your beloved Routines, trust me!
Still, there are some habits which might not fit into your routines but which you still want to develop. Find out what those habits are and make a list of all of them. Then pick one habit each month and focus on developing this habit throughout the month. Don’t be too hard with yourself and never try to develop 10 habits at the same time. You will only get overwhelmed and frustrated. Take your time, baby steps. You will get there, I promise!
