How to slay 2018
“So I close my eyes to old ends. And open my heart to new beginnings.”
Personally I LOVE new beginnings, I know.. you can change every day and start over every single morning. But there is something so magical about a brand new year. Even though it’s just a concept. I don’t care.
I’m sure many of you think and feel the same way so I decided to bring out a few posts about how to slay 2018. Because a new beginning without goals, changes and motivation.. isn’t really a new beginning, right? In this post I am bringing to you some Healthy Habits that will help you stay on top of life for the next 12 months, and probably even longer, if you keep doing them. You can incorporate them all at once or one by one, just do what feels best and the most helpful for you.
The Top 12 Healthy Habits:
1. Morning & Night Routine
Yes, I talk about this in nearly every post. But it is just so important. Getting up in the morning and following a Routine will help you to get in tune with yourself, get ready for a new day full of productivity and just.. be happy! (wake up early and energized)
2. Get enough sleep
So. Important. If you think you can properly work on around 6 hours of sleep, you are damn wrong. Try out sleeping 8-9 hours every night and feel the difference. You will have much more energy, a better mood and by that get more done. (Fall asleep earlier)
3. Set goals, make a plan, work on it every single day
Getting up every morning without a purpose will not be satisfying. Why should you get out of your comfy bed when there is nothing you really want to do? Nothing to work for? Find out what it is you want to accomplish, something you are passionate about. Write it down, plan how you will reach it. And go. (Goal-planner)
4. Avoid distractions
I know, there are countless funny things to do in life. Scrolling through your instagram feed for 2 hours, watching cute animal videos, ordering pizza, chatting on the phone, netflix, this list is probably endless. It’s called procrastination, we all now what it means. Get rid of this stuff. My Tip: sit down on your desc, set a timer on your phone and work until it ends, do nothing else meanwhile.
I also talked about this several times, it’s a serious game changer. If you are interested read this post I wrote about it some time ago.
6. Stop multitasking
Even if you are a woman. Some studies showed that the human brain (male & female) isn’t really able to focus on more than one thing at a time. What really happens is your poor brain switching back and forth between all the things you want to do in the same second. You will be much more productive if you just focus on 1 thing at a time.
7. View life from multiple perspectives
We tend to just see our perspective all the time. What we think, feel, want, wish for, seem to know, … But seriously, how many humans live on this blue planet, how many animals, etc.? Not to mention the millions of other galaxies we don’t know stuff about. Do you really think that there is one finite truth? One single right decision? Nope. Strive to look through different eyes on the same situation and you will learn a lot more about yourself and life.
8. Cut out negative thinking
Obviously, creating surreal positive thoughts in your head won’t change your life in one second. But stopping negative thoughts will. Negative thinking is a downward spiral – negative thoughts, negative emotions, negative outcome, negative life. Get yourself out of it.
9. Move your Body
Pretty obvious why this is so important. Increased health, increased energy, increased self-confidence, increased happiness and a lot of negative energy moving out of your system. Find out what works for you – I love running and yoga. But it’s something else for everybody, so just try out different things.
10. Fuel your Body
Same as the point above. You will be healthy, have more energy and after some time really satisfied with yourself. Eat more greens, eat fruits, cut out sugar and anything processed, drink tons of water. Breathe. Repeat.
Write down your thoughts and feelings every morning. Without thinking about it. Just let if flow through you, it will help you understand yourself. I love to call it “Self-Therapy”. Find an old notebook and start, nothing difficult about it and no rules.
12. Self Help Books & Podcasts
I love reading at home and listening to podcasts when I’m on the go. It’s a great way to fuel your mind and life. There are tons of great self help books out there for every single theme you could imagine. Strive to read 1-2 Books a months and don’t forget to write down everything important that you learn from it.
Ok love, this sums up todays Blogpost. I hope I could inspire you to incorporate some or all of those habits into your life! Thank you so much for reading.
