“A Goal without a Plan is just a Wish”
The new year has officially started, we all got a long list of goals we want to reach. But how are we going to accomplish this? As todays quotes already says: a goal without a plan is just a wish. What we need to do now is create a plan which is impossible to fail.
8 Steps to creating a Bulletproof 2018 Goal Planner:
1. Write down all the Goals you have in mind for this year
This will help you to get an overview of everything you want to reach, don’t think about priorities, don’t think about importance.. just write them all down on a big piece of paper.
2. Sort them into Categories
Now you get yourself to colored pencils or markers & sort your goals into 2 categories: short term and long term goals. One color for each category, obviously. Finding out if the goals are short or long term is very helpful for your planning.
3. Create an Action-Plan for every goal
This is like a to do list, behind every goal you now write down (detailed!) the particular steps you need to accomplish in order to arrive at your goal. Research, money, register, enrolling, etc. Also write them down in the right order so you don’t have to do this later.
4. How long will it take you?
Now look at all the steps you need to make and find out approximately how long accomplishing this goal is going to take you. You need to arrange the working on those goals later and for this it is important to know how much time they are going to take you.
5. On how many of them can you work on?
How many goals do you have? How time consuming are they? Looking at this list you just make, think about how many of them/which of them you could work on at the same time. Maybe mark them or write them together in some kind of order.
6. Simplify and Prioritize
Be true with yourself. Are all of those goals possible to work on and reach this year? Are they all realistically accomplishable? If not, prioritize and sort the ones out that can easily be delayed into 2019! Even so it feels not that good, keep in mind that if you work on too many things at the same time.. you won’t be able to accomplish even one. Rather less but effective than more but ineffectual.
7. Arrange them useful throughout the year
Decide in which time of the year you are going to work on each one of them. Maybe you want to write this eBook in June and start your Youtube Channel later in October.. Put smaller goals together and time block for the bigger ones to work on them determined. Of course you can change this order as soon as you realize something else would be more useful, but it is still good to create an expected timetable.
8. Create a Vision Board
Find a picture, quote or something that represents each and everyone of your goals. Print it out and place it above your desk where you see it everyday! Every morning, go through those pictures, think of the goal & what needs to be done, feel as if you already accomplished it. It’s called visualization and will help you to stay motivated and keep on working even if it’s though!
I hope those Tips could help you with planning this years goals & I am confident that you are able to reach all of them!
