Superfoods experienced a big hype the last two years. There are some I integrated into my life, which I would never want to miss.
I know that may people struggle with really eating healthy. To begin with 100% healthy food from today to tomorrow is something not everyone is able to accomplish. When I shifted my diet to a vegan and plant based one I also struggled, but something that really helped me have been Superfoods. It’s just so easy to add them to your smoothie in the morning and it feels great knowing that this nourishes your body!

Maca Powder is a Peruvian Herb which has been used for thousands of years as medicine and food. It increases energy, balances your hormones, has great Nutritional values (7/9 essential Amino Acids and 11 non-essential). It works against stress and anxiety, is a great antioxidant and cancer fighting superfood.
Goji Berries can also be bought as Powder so you can put them into your smoothie. They work against high blood pressure, are great antioxidants and promote a normal blood sugar. They also help with anxiety and stress, support your kidney function and promote a good sleep!
Wheatgrass can also be bought in the form of powder, this is what I use! It is a great detoxifier and antioxidant. It contains many enzymes and is a complete protein. Hemp protein contains 21 amino acids and is a complete protein, it is hypoallergenic and very high in fiber and magnesium. It contains many antioxidants as well as omega’s. It works Anti-Inflammatory, supports your brain function and reduces the risk of heart disease and cancer.
Turmeric can also be bought as powder, most people use it as a spice for cooking but I also put a teaspoon of it in my smoothies. It aids metabolism, works anti-inflammatory and antiseptic. Turmeric is also a great cancer prevention, helps with asthma, improves your digestion and prevents the progression of Alzheimers Disease. Your skin will also get clearer, its great!
I – love – Ginger. I dring fresh Ginger Tea, use it as a spice and put it in my smoothies. It’s just great and I guess you could say it is my number one superfood. I love the taste and I love its benefits! Ginger relieves tired muscles, improves your circulation and fights cancer. But the things I recognized the most: It clears your skin, betters your immune system and relieves menstrual cramps!
I just recently started using Cayenne Pepper. I don’t put it in my smoothies but I drink a glass of water with lemon juice and cayenne pepper every morning right after waking up. It makes me feel so good, improves my digestion and warms me up. Cayenne Pepper has anti-fungal properties, detoxifies your body, works anti-inflammatory and anti-allergenic. It Improves your heart health, fights cancer and is a remedy for tooth and gum diseases. I also started using it because it prevents migraine, cold and flu.
