Last week i postet a blogpost about the Benefits of a Morning Routine and also shared my personal Morning Routine with you. I’m sure the ones of you who don’t stick to a daily Morning Routine asked themselves how i can wake up that early and still feel energized. As I want you all to be able to create your own Morning Routine and feel the benefits each and every day I decided to give you 10 tips on how to wake up early and energized!
Lets jump right into it!
10 Tips on how to wake up early and energized:
1) Go to bed earlier
So i guess this one seems pretty obvious. Most people need 7-8 hours of sleep. If you want to wake up early, fit and energized you need to make sure to get enough sleep. Decide when you want to wake up and calculate when you need to go to sleep!
If you struggle with sleeping early – then i got good news! I am currently writing on a blogpost to help you with that, it will be published next week.
2) Wake up in the right point of your sleep cycle
So this one helped me a lot when I were still going to school. I always felt terrible when my alarm rang. Like someone just got me out of the deepest sleep ever. I started to inform myself about better techniques and found this app. Trust me – this changed everything.
Basically you decide the latest point when you want to wake up, put the phone beside you inside your bed and go to sleep. The app analyzed in which point of your sleep cycle you are and wakes you up when its less ‘terrible’. Try it out!
3) Small steps
If you get up at 8 am every day and you now suddenly decide to set an alarm for 5 am – it won’t work. Well, maybe for some people it will but for the most of us not. Do baby steps. first 7:45, then 7:30 and so on. Your body needs to accustom itself to this new habit and this may take some time. So don’t require too much, be patient.
4) Open curtains
This one really helped me a lot! When I moved out my windows hadn’t any rolling shutters, just some curtains that wouldn’t really keep my room dark. But I decided to not change this – and I’m really happy with me decision!
When you open your curtains and let the daylight in your room your body will stop producing melatonin and you will feel less tired and sleepy. I also tend to get really excited about getting up when i see the sun. It’s a lot harder on those rainy days (like today).
5) Get excited
Before going to sleep think about the next day, what are you going to do? Find at least one thing that you are really looking forward to, write it somewhere you can see it or label your alarm after this. When you wake up in the morning you will immediately be excited about doing it, this will help you get out of bed.
6) Don’t snooze
I can’t stress this enough! Stop snoozing. Do you really think those extra minutes will change your life? Trust me girlboss, they won’t. But those minutes will change your life if you just get up and get shit done.
7) Remember the benefits
Check out my blogpost about the Benefits of sticking to a Morning Routine. You won’t be able to get a really good morning routine into your schedule without getting up earlier. So always think about those benefits, after somedays you will recognize them yourself and it will get a lot easier.

8) Drink water
“Drink water” are those to words you can put literally anything and they will help and be the solution to your problem. Drinking water is always a good idea, especially in those early mornings. First: this will make feel more alert. Second: you most likely haven’t got any water for the lest 7-8 hours, your body is dehydrated and really needs it!
9) Rise with the sun
My last Tip: Rise with the sun! If you reduce your daily daylight income it will delay your internal clock. If you rise with the sun and get lots of daylight your body will synchronize itself to the light-dark-circle which will also help you sleep earlier! Thank me later.
That’s it for today, girlboss. I hope I could help you! If you have any further questions feel free to always ask me, I’ll be happy to help out!
